Mrs.Clark’s 7th grade reading classes finished up The Outsiders book last week. The students got to tour the house that was used in the movie, and eat lunch at the park used for several scenes! They had a great day!

Read Across America Week offered a Middle School Door Decorating Contest! Ms. Combest and her class won a pizza party! Congratulations!!!!

Our Latta Elementary is full of Artists! During Read Across America Week, these were the winning bookmarks in our elementary. This past weekend, the OSSAA took time to recognize the 50th anniversary of the 1975 Class A Girls Basketball State Champions! Yesterday and Today Latta hosted Seminole’s Speech and Debate Tournament.  We had 5 students who competed, all of whom did amazing! We also want to give a huge shoutout to everyone who volunteered, provided hospitality and concessions, or helped in any other way.  Also a big thank you to our High School faculty and staff for lending us their classrooms and spaces for the weekend.  This would not have been possible without the amazing support of our school community! Isaak Hamilton and Emma Skinner took first place in 3A Humorous Duet (regionals qualifier) and in Champs Dramatic Duet (already qualified for regionals) Riley Johnson took second place in 3A Monologue (Regionals Qualifier) Neal Shown took first place in 3A Foreign Extemporaneous Speaking (Regionals Qualifier) Brooklyn Lewis took second place in Champs Domestic Extemporaneous Speaking (already qualified for regionals)

Congratulations to our Latta Powerlifting team who placed 3rd overall in Class A & 8th out of 33 overall against all class C-2A schools at the SE Regional in Hartshorne! Congratulations to Cal Reeves of the Latta FFA Chapter. He was recently selected to be 1 of 100 members of the State FFA Chorus. The chorus will perform at the 99th State FFA Convention May 6-7 at the BOK Center in Tulsa, and will travel to Oklahoma City and perform for the Senate and House of Representatives.
