
Beau Griffin and Jake LaMack of Latta FFA competed at the Poteau Welder's Rodeo recently. They took a written test and a tool ID before firing up their welding rig and building a gate to preset specifications. They finished in the top 15.

Tutoring will end tomorrow at 3:30, and there will be no tutoring on Thursday. Mrs. Hisaw will do tutoring the week after Thanksgiving Break. She is located in the 5th grade building.

Middle School/HS student council food drive gathered enough food to feed 50 local families for Thanksgiving! 🤩🎉Way to go, Panthers!


DECA Power Trip! Jacoby Impson and Kaiden Harjo represented Oklahoma. They have been to Beal Street, BB Kings, Presley Home, Knoxville , Smokey Mtn tour, by Dollyville, Toured Bush Bean Factory and General Store, Toured the Vanderbilt Biltmore Grounds and Mansion, DECA Leadership Convention, Blue Mountain Pizza,Billy Graham Museum, DECA at spectrum Center, DECA Night at NASCAR Hall of Fame. Joined the DECA miracle minute raising over 15,000 dollars in Helena Relief and adopting a pediatric cancer project.







Our Algebra 1 classes had fun with Barbie Bungee while calculating a line of best fit. They dropped Barbie each time they added a rubber band, measured her distance bungeed, then used their data and graphing calculator to determine a linear regression equation to fit their data. They used their regression line to determine number of rubber bands needed to give Barbie a most thrilling bungee from the lobby of our new gym. This was a great way to wrap up Unit 4 on Linear Equations. Thanks to all students who worked so hard on this project.











Congratulations to Latta 7th grader, Jaycee Oldenburg, on exhibiting the 3rd overall Champion Dorper Wether Lamb in Louisville, Kentucky at the North American International Livestock Exposition. We're proud of you, Jaycee!


Thanks to all the students and faculty who came out and supported our Latta NHS in an effort to raise money for the Susan G Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. We raised $212 and had a great time playing volleyball. Our winners were the Pink Panthers!





Congratulations to our HS Academic Team! They came in third place at the Regional Tournament on Saturday and will compete in the Area Tournament in January!


Congrats to the 8th Grade Lady Panthers for winning the championship in the Stonewall Tournament!


For the past month the entire 4th grade has been working on a book of kindness and had it published. For kindness week they were able to go into classrooms and share their book with other Latta elementary students. We are so proud of their hard work!











Friday, Ms. Bruner’s Zoology class had fun with fungi and dissected mushrooms! Students were amazed at how intricate a fungus could be while using dissecting scopes! Also, thank you to the Biotechnology Department at the Pontotoc Technology Center for letting us use some of their dissecting scopes this year!


Congratulations to Beau Griffin and Jocelyn James. They recently competed in the Southeast Area AFR Speech Contest. They each won first in their division and will now compete at State in Stillwater on December 7. Way to represent Latta FFA!


Latta Middle School FCA got to pass out FCA “The Four” bracelets today. Bo Walbrick with FCA got to talk about what each of the 4 symbols mean.
Over 100 seventh and eighth graders showed up and got to hear a great message from Coach C about temptation!🖤💛🤍




Latta DECA presented their business pitches at the ECU Tiger Tank today. Great job students.


On October 28th, this shooting sports team traveled to Connors State College for the first time for the Southranch Shootout and competed in trap and skeet. Results were posted yesterday, and Brody McElhannon was Individual Male Champion with his combined score. The wind was outrageous, which made for some tough targets. Way to go, Panthers!!!
