Grilling season is upon us. The Latta 4-H/FFA Booster club is selling chances on this Shop Built Smoker and Grill by the Latta FFA Ag Mech Class. The trailer includes a fish fryer, covered wood box and tool box. It is built on a 3500# axle with a 4" Channel Iron frame. Contact any Latta 4-H or FFA Member to buy your chances. Tickets are $10. NHS had a great time at the NHS state convention! They even got to lead a breakout about service in the school and then ended the night supporting the Latta Lady Panthers
Latta Boys Golf team represented well yesterday at The Plainview Invitational. 36 holes, 2 different courses, against bigger schools they finished 4th as a team. Big time round by Parker Pogue who finished 3rd individually.
The Latta JH boys finished in 3rd place at the Stroud JH Invitational golf tournament. Tons of improvement in just a few weeks. Good job, guys!

Friday and Saturday we had four students compete at the State Speech contest. Isaak Hamilton and Bentley Hill were finalists in their category Dramatic Duet! A huge congratulations to all for their hard work in getting to State.
Latta FCCLA was well represented at the state FCCLA convention. Level 1 meat judging team placed 1st in the state with Kylee Sutton placing 2nd individually and Brooklyn Brust placing 1st! The Level 3 Parliamentary Procedure team placed 3rd. Latta was awarded Gold Star Chapter for their involvement and community service. They were also one of nine recipients of forty applicants for a Grant-a-Wish grant for over $500.
